Permadata is available both as a REST API for on-demand use and for download as a SQLite database, which can be loaded into Excel or an asset management system. Optional R and Python packages assist with integration and off-line analysis.

The database is an aggregation of authoritative sources on environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Sources include EPEAT, Energy Star (both US and EU), TCO, Ecolabel, Greenpeace, Energy Ratings, Dow Jones Sustainability Index, Global Reporting Initiative, and the Carbon Disclosure Project, and more.

While much of this data is available on the web, Permadata consolidates information into one profile per product and company, making it possible to check products and suppliers against a sustainable procurement policy in real time.
